  • Verizon Wireless hops on Android train, will launch 'few' devices in the coming weeks

Verizon Wireless and Google have today announced a partnership whereby the two companies will collaborate to launch Android devices and services based on Google's mobile platform. Verizon will launch a few Android phones in the coming weeks (including the Motorola Sholes in all probability).

According to the press release, "Verizon Wireless and Google plan to co-develop several Android-based devices that will be pre-loaded with innovative applications from both parties as well as third-party developers. The family of Android phones on the Verizon Wireless network will come from leading handset manufacturers."

With T-Mobile and Sprint already on the rolls, we won't be surprised if Google's next announcement comes with AT&T in tow before the holiday season.
