MapmyIndia has released MapmyIndia Maps 5.0 that adds house addresses to its maps. Till now, in India one could only navigate to the closest landmark using GPS navigation and could not search for last-mile navigation (say a residential address) on these devices. The latest edition adds home addresses for Delhi NCR and Chandigarh, with more cities expected to be added to this list soon.



MapmyIndia Maps 5.0 also adds support for eight Indian languages – Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu (Marathi and others will follow soon) – which will enable users to give commands in their native language and get audio directions in the same language. Finally, it seems, GPS navigation is set to become big in India. We are waiting to get our paws of one of the company’s Navigators to test the service.
