t mobile g2 700x525 Leaked: Worlds first HSPA+ smartphone, the T Mobile G2Folks at Engadget have received a bunch of pics of the upcoming T-Mobile G2. Yup, it is the same ‘world’s first HSPA+ smartphone’ that T-Mobile was teasing its American customers. Turns out that the device looks like the Desire with a slide-up QWERTY keyboard. Yup, we mean slide-up cuz it seems to have a Nokia N97-ish hinge mechanism thought rather than tilting the display at an angle it just falls back. The only reason why HTC went with this particular hinge design rather than a normal slider would be to save some real estate and make the top-most row of keys more accessible. Seems like this one might not be the beast we were hoping it would be as it seems to have a 3.7-inch display and probably no front-facing camera (what?). However, we can count on a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset under the hood and of course, support for T-Mobile’s superfast HSPA+ network.

Considering that Indian carriers plan to roll out HSPA networks themselves later this year, we won’t mind a bit if HTC decides to launch it in this part of the world any time soon. Are ya listening, fellas?
