I have an unlocked HTC Desire running Android 2.2 but when I asked Vodafone to activate my SIM for internet, they said this was only possible if the phone was connected to a PC. Does anyone know if that’s correct? Nobody at Vodafone seems to be very confident of their information.
If it is true that I can’t use my Desire for gmail/maps on the go with Vodafone, should I switch to an Airtel Sim card or would the same problem apply?
Try configuring data access by using www as the apn in the settings. See if it works.
