• Sony Ericsson launches XPERIA X10 and Vivaz in India

Our sources never prove to be wrong and like we reported last week, Sony Ericsson has finally launched its first Android device in India today, the XPERIA X10. The lovechild of Swedish and Japanese parents also launched the Vivaz, the world’s first camphone that does continuous auto-focus while shooting videos in HD quality.

The tall 4 inch display of XPERIA X10 features Sony Ericsson’s customised UX user interface that offers apps like Mediascape and Timescape. The former app lets you access content (music, photos and videos) from your device, YouTube and PlayNow in a very simple way whereas the latter one packs your conversation with a person in one place without making you open different apps. Other features include Wi-Fi, GPS, 3.5 mm headset jack, 8.0 MP camera and face recognition.

The XPERIA X10 is priced at Rs 35,795.

Sony Ericsson’s Vivaz is truly meant for HD video recording and sharing. You can shoot videos at 720p HD and can put your masterpieces on YouTube and Picasa. Carrying forward the legacy of Satio, it is based on Symbian S60 fifth edition.

The phone runs on a snappy 720 MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 8.1 MP camera with autofocus, image stabilization and face detection, GPS, Wi-Fi, 3.5mm audio jack and will come bundled with an 8GB microSD card.

The Vivaz is priced at Rs 25,695.
