The App Store’s haunted – Casper’s there!
After the invasion of the App Store by iPhone versions of PC and
console classics, it seems that it is time for the kiddies game brigade
to get stuck in. Or so we think after a release dropped into our
mailboxes, informing us that Classic Media, a global media company had signed a deal with games publisher Mastertronic and developers Codemonkeys to bring a Casper’s Scare School game, based on the animation series on TV, to the iPhone and iPod Touch handsets. The game throws the users into a
series of ‘spooky’ sporting events as the Scare School celebrates its
annual Spooky Sports Day – no prizes for guessing that it was launched
to coincide with the Halloween season. Gamers control the games using
the iPhones
touch screen and accelerometer, andis available from the UK App Store (UK), for £2.99p. We are watching which other regions get it.The game, like the series, is targeted at 6-9 year olds, which makes us
wonder just how children are using the iPhone and the iPod touch and
also summons up images (hey, you get a vivid imagination being in this
business) of parents and their children waging war over who gets to
play on the godphone first. The imagination boggles!4 November 2009 in Games by Aman KapoorComment on this post
