• What will Apple announce next week?

The answer to the question is – Only “Steve and his inner circle know.” Speculation has centered around a new iPod line, minor changes to Apple TV, iMac updates, notebook updates, price reductions and perhaps a CDMA based iPhone and a new netbook. If I was part of Apple’s Senior Management team here is what I would recommend:

Apple has to announce a 9″ all touch netbook that starts shipping in October. Hopefully, this netbook would work on Verizon’s EVDO network. By October the retail team at Apple and Verizon will be trained on provisioning and other related challenges.  The data service charges should be no more than $19.99 per month and the customer should have an option of buying the netbook without a data plan. Either way the netbook will sell like hot cakes if it is priced between $349-$499 with a two year service plan. Naturally, other CDMA operators around the world should also be able to offer this netbook. I will line up and purchase the netbook at either an Apple or a Verizon store.

    My other recommendations:

Price reduction on the existing MacBook to $899

Price reduction on the iPhone 3GS,16GB version to $179

Price reduction on the iPhone 3G to $59-$79
