• Nokia announces N900, available in October for Euro 500

Almost three months after we got the first whiff of Nokia’s next generation Internet Tablet is finally official. The N900 is the latest Maemo based Internet tablet evolving from the N810.

The N900 runs on an ARM Cortex-A8 processor, with up to 1GB of application memory and OpenGL ES 2.0 graphics acceleration. The result – multi-tasking bliss – or so claims Nokia. All speculations about the N900 turned out to be true with its 5.0 MP Carl Zeiss optics camera to HSPA connectivity and its slide-out QWERTY keyboard with a misplaced space bar key. We are trying to get hold of a video of the N900 in action, so sit tight.

For those already drooling over the device will have to wait till October, keep about Euro 500 in change and hope that they live in one of the ‘select’ markets where it’d be available.
