• Nokia announces Booklet 3G netbook!

Putting an end to speculations, Nokia today unveiled its first netbook to the world – the Booklet 3G. Not suprisingly, it runs on Microsoft’s Windows platform and is powered by an Intel Atom processor. Earlier, Nokia had tied up with Intel for the same and had announced a similar tie-up with Microsoft for a range of services.

Taking a leaf out of its vast experience in the cellphone space, the Booklet 3G comes with 3G/HSPA connectivity along with Wi-Fi and an A-GPS chip. Nokia hopes that this device will be able to do justice to its Ovi services that have not really picked up on its smartphones.

The aluminum chasis is less than two inches thick and Nokia claims that consumers will be able to get up to 12 hours of battery life. The company will reveal availability, pricing and other details on September 2 at the Nokia World event in Stuttgart. We anticipate Nokia will also introduce a Mobile Internet Device codenamed Rover at the event.
