Sony Ericsson announces leadership change
Sony Ericsson today announced a change in its leadership with president Hideki (Dick) Komiyama announcing his retirement at the end of the year. Now Bert Nordberg, executive vice president, Ericsson Group and head of Ericsson Silicon Valley will assume Komiyama’s position from October 15. He will join Sony Ericsson as the co-president from September 1.
On the board side, chairman, president and CEO of Sony Corp, Sir Howard Stringer will become the chairman of the board taking over from Carl-Henric Svanberg, president and CEO of Ericsson.
The move marks a reshuffle of portfolios between the two parent companies – Sony and Ericsson – both of which are trying to turn-around the fate of the ailing handset company.
