What will Microsoft and Nokia announce today?
A lot has been written about the proposed Microsoft and Nokia announcement. Truthfully, I have no clue what they will announce. Here are a few possibilities:
- Nokia licenses Windows Mobile. Makes a lot of sense to me given Nokia’s expertise is low cost manufacturing and Windows Mobile will be among the top 3 mobile OS. For the sake of Nokia, I hope they announce the partnership soon.
- Application Support – MS Office for Symbian.
- Microsoft buys Nokia – makes sense given Nokia’s strong market share and expertise in mobile devices. Nokia could be a better alternative to Research in Motion – which Microsoft has tried to acquire in the past. Unlikely to be announced today!
