The rumour mills were correct. Apple has just announced iPhone 3GS, where S stands for Speed. However, it has the same design as the iPhone 3G but now supports HSDPA 7.2 Mbps and a faster processor. As expected, there is a new 3.0 MP camera with auto-focus (macro mode, touch focus, auto exposure…). Mercy! It also records video with audio at 30 frames per second, auto-focus, auto-exposure and auto white balance!

There’s more! Video editing with the tap of a finger! Direct upload to YouTube or send as MMS! And more… Voice control – voice commands lets you call people or even command the phone to play a song! Yup, those rumours of a digital compass were true! There is a compass app integrated into Maps that make the map orient to the direction you are facing, This is sooo cool!

A new Accessibility function says what you touch on the screen! The iPhone 3GS has a better battery that should give between 20-40 percent better battery performance!
