• Nokia Rover is an N97 killer Internet tablet

    2

Nokia might be putting up a brave face and donating Symbian OS to the Symbian Foundation, but the truth is the Finnish giant is planning to convert its Internet Tablet platform Maemo into something that can be used for its future smartphones.

What’s more, the company is in the process of launching the successor to its N810 Internet Tablet device called the Rover. While MobileCrunch broke the story a few hours ago, we have the first picture of the Rover, which is expected to be announced in June.

Now for the juicy bits aka the specs:

    Dimensions: 59.7mmx111mmx18.2mm
    Weight: 180g
    3.5? 800×480 (WVGA) touchscreen
    OMAP3430 500/600 Mhz processor
5.0 MP Carl Zeiss camera with dual-LED flash, autofocus, and sliding cover
    1GB total virtual runtime memory
    Wi-Fi, HSPA, GPS, accelerometer
