AT&T getting HTC Lancaster Android phone
While our wait for being showered with some Android love continues, HTC is busy churning out one device after another for American carriers. The latest leak is the Lancaster for AT&T, which looks like the Magic when closed (awrite, it ain’t got a trackball) but has a sliding QWERTY keypad underneath.
According to AT&T’s internal documents, the Lancaster is scheduled for an August release provided AT&T gets a nod from Google (we assume) to have its own UI on top of Android.
Specs include a 2.8 inch display, HSUPA connectivity, 3.0 MP fixed-focus shooter, A-GPS and the works.
AT&T has a six month exclusivity period for the Lancaster, which means that there is fair chance of this being introduced in other markets by the end of this year. We dunno what it’d take HTC to launch one of their Android phones here in India. We hope, that pleading them works. Are ya listening, guys? Show us some Android love…
