After months of teasing and tantalizing us with eyes-only live demos, Palm has finally come clean with the Pre, which will adorn shelves in the US on June 6. Yup, so far it is a Sprint-exclusive in the US with a price tag of $199 after a $100 mail-in rebate. Of course, like the God Phone, this one will come with a two-year contract.

We had a date with the Pre at MWC earlier this year and were pretty impressed with the webOS and the tonnes of things one can do with it (multi-tasking included!). However, a controlled demo is one thing and using it in real scenario is quite a different thing all together. We will wait with bated breath for the first reviews to trickle in on June 6, cuz this is one device that will decide whether Palm will live on to see the year 2010. We sure hope it does, but we have seen other brands trying to outdo Apple with limited results, let alone pumping oxygen to a suffocating company.

We say, Palm has two days to deliver results before Apple announces something new on June 8 at WWDC 2009.
