Google Sky Map brings the sky to your pocket!

The ‘final frontier’ has been captured! Google has announced Sky Map, an application that brings heavenly bodies right on to your cellphone screen.
Those of us living in concrete jungles rarely ever get to see a star studded sky, when I do get a chance, I always wonder which constellations are visible to me. Well, Sky Map will come in handy the next time I get an opportunity.
Sky Maps checks your location via the built-in GPS receiver on the phone, gets the time and even the direction you are pointing towards thanks to the built-in compass and accelerometer. It then compiles all the data and tells you the stars and planets that should be visible to you.
Being a Google project, you can always search for any particular object you wanna see and it will guide you which direction you have to face!
The app is currently available on the Android Market and we assume that it should hit the iPhone when iPhone OS 3.0 is launched later in June.
