Nokia to launch dual-SIM phones
2Nokia is planning to launch phones capable of accomodating two SIM cards simultaneously. According to Vineet Taneja, director of marketing, Nokia India, the company will introduce such phones in the lower-end segment of its portfolio. “There is a market for dual-SIM phones in the entry-level segment where users keep switching between operators to take benefit of new achemes,” said Taneja.
Currently, import of dual-SIM phones has been restricted in India because of a claim by a Madurai-based man who claims that these phones infringe his local patent. The case is presently sub-judice. Other handset vendors like Samsung and Spice are quite aggresive with their dual-SIm phone offerings. Well, with Nokia planning to gate-crash the party, the segment can only get more exciting.18 April 2009 in Phones by Rajat Agrawal2 Responses to “Nokia to launch dual-SIM phones”
