Google enables typing-free mobile search

Innovation is Google’s second name. Just when we think we’ve seen it all, these guys come up with something that makes our jaws touch the ground. Okay, that was a bit exaggerated, but really these guys are good. The latest offering is what Google calls LCB Search (don’t ask us what LCB means) that enables users to do local searches without typing any search string.

Head off to www.google.com/m/lcb from your cellphone’s browser and select your city. Once done, you can choose from different options like entertainment, restaurants, travel and so on. The best thing we like about the service is once you select any listing you get the contact details and a map with driving directions to the destination.Â
Unfortunately, there aren’t many Indian businesses listed out there. Earlier this week, Google had called for Indian businesses to register their details with them, probably to make this feature more happening.
