Moto Q9 gets cloned in China

Call it rampant trademark and IP abuse or just the Chinese way of life, but cellphone cloning has become too grave a problem to be ignored. The latest product to get the Chinese treatment is the Moto Q9, which gets rechristened as the CECT Q9. It comes complete with Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC version (don’t ask us if it’s a legitimate copy or not), a 2.6 inch touchscreen and a TI OMAP730 processor running at 200 MHz. There is no 3G or EDGE though and supports only GSM 900/1800 bands. What a waste for taking the trouble of cloning a Moto phone.3 March 2008 in Faking it by Rajat AgrawalComment on this post
