Sony Ericsson intends to go where no other camera phone has gone before – under water! The company is working on a waterproof housing accessory that would protect the phone from moisture but at the same time has a clear window for the camera lens for clicking pictures. We have just one question, why would someone take his cellphone while taking a dip in the ocean/lake/pool? Nevertheless, Sony Ericsson probably thinks that people will do so.
And while we are talking about patents, how can we forget Motorola? The brand is thinking of reviving the rotator form-factor albeit with some tweaks. This time, the handset manufacturer has implemented a design mechanism that makes the handset fit to the contours of the user’s face when open, a la the Rizr Z8!
