Tata Teleservices gets Opera Mini on its handsets
Tata Teleservices and Opera Software have initiated a deal to embed Opera Mini Internet browser on the CDMA carrier’s range of BREW enabled handsets. The browser will be pre-loaded even on basic mass market phones like the Huawei C2900i. With this partnership, Tata will aim to leverage the fast data speed of its CDMA network and enable Internet browsing even on the most basic handsets. According to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, the number of mobile Internet subscribers has increased from 16 million to 38 million subscribers in a span of one year.
